Steve is retired from a 30 year career as President of a Construction Company. He moved to Hawaii Island in 1995 and has lived in Puna since 2000. Steve has been active in the Community and on the Puna Community Medical Center Board since 2008. Puna needs better medical services and we are trying to provide those.

Healthcare executiveJohn’s career in the healthcare industry spans nearly 30 years and seven hospitals across the western United States: Shriners Hospitals for Children - Honolulu; North Hawaii Community Hospital, Kamuela; three public hospital districts in Washington State; and two non-profit system hospitals in Oregon. His experience includes urban Prospective Payment System (PPS) and rural critical access hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, multi-specialty physician practices, rural health clinics, assisted living centers, emergency medical services providers, home health and hospice agencies, and hospital foundations.
In addition to his hospital experience, John led Hawaii Medical Services Association’s (HMSA) Care Management and Service Coordination, later founding Community Health Workforce LLC, a healthcare staffing and innovation company. His education includes Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance & Accounting from Washington State University, Pullman, Washington; and a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Washington, Seattle. In 2021 John earned a Certificate of Competence as Community Health Worker from the University of Hawaii/Kapiolani Community College.
HEALTHCARE STAFFING SPECIALISTHelen has been a healthcare recruiter for more than 10 years, prior to that she was a business development director for staffing services. She lived on Oahu as a child, then she and her husband built a home in Pahoa in 2011. She is now semi-retired and is very honored and excited to be a part of this necessary service for the people of Puna.
Neva WinterPahoa Business Owner/directorNeva is a graduate of East West College of Healing Arts, a nationally accredited massage school in Oregon. She has studied under the 801-hour program and currently runs her own private studio. Having grown up here, she has long term ties to the Puna community. She is a member of American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA). In addition, she happily served on the board for the Oregon Massage Therapy Association (OMTA). She is licensed in two amazing states,
Hawaii (MAT #14222) Oregon (LMT#14997). Prior to pursuing a career in Massage Therapy, Neva spent 12 years in Property Management helping to develop and implement the Low Income Housing Tax Credit Compliancy program for multiple property management companies in the Pacific Northwest. Ralph BoyerPCMCF TREASURER
Ralph Boyea retired from his position as Hawai’i Division Chief of the Hawai’i Government Employee’s Association [HGEA] in December 2007. In 2008 Mr. Boyea served as the Legislative Advocate at the State of Hawai’i Legislature for the Hawai’i County Council. From 2013 to 2015 he represented the State of Hawaii on the IRS Taxpayer’s Advocacy Board. He previously held offices, including President, on his Community Association and the Puna Community Medical center boards. Boyea has a BA in Bacteriology and Chemistry from UC Berkeley and an advance degree certificate in Medical Microbiology from UC San Francisco. He moved to Hawaii in 1974 and resided in Puna since 1976.
HART MILLER mdFAMILY MEDICINE PHYSICIAN
Hart Miller is a physician practicing medicine in Pahoa Hawaii since 2007. His current practice is in Urgent Care. He has had much experience and training in treating and working with patients who have suffered from Rat Lungworm Disease. He has interests in tropical medicine, wilderness medicine, the health benefits of working with plants, and in medical aid for the dying. He holds private consultations for individuals and family members who are searching for more thoroughness and individual care than medical insurance will allow.
He has traveled the globe, often to pursue surfing, time in the forest, and fitness of body, emotion and community. With roots in the Carolinas, he graduated from Clemson University and the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He spends any available time with loved ones, and improving the health the land. Living in lower Puna, he belongs to a piece of land managed by organic standards using permaculture and other regenerative and sustainable agricultural methods. Terri Bryant, CPagrant writer/directorTerri has forty years of finance and budget experience primarily in the municipal and Federal government arena. She has managed the acquisition of funds, and the accounting and budgeting for several multi-million-dollar public capital projects. In addition, during her career in government, Terri was responsible for accounting and reporting for multiple Federal, State, and local grants.
Her education includes a BA in Finance and Accounting, a minor in Business Administration, and an MBA in Finance from Regis University in Denver, Colorado. Terri and her late husband, Mike, retired to Pahoa, where they fell in love with the people and the community. Terri feels very privileged and proud to be a small part of this great project for the Puna district. Kumu Dane SilvaTraditionally trained and internationally recognized for combining native Hawaiian medicine with scientific research, Dane Kaohelani Silva, 76, passed away at his home in Puna on November 27, 2022. He will be sorely missed by the community and we will honor Dane's legacy by continuing his work at the Kipuka Garden. PCMCF Board Secretary Born in Honolulu & raised in Kalapana, JD Domizio is A proud graduate of the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa. JD has a background in technology, athletics, and education. JD coordinates the Pre-Health Career Corps Program on Hawai’i Island, a year-round education program under the Hilo Medical Center Foundation - the Area Health Education Center (AHEC) for the Big Island.

After a few years of work in the corporate pharmaceutical sector, In 2017, I returned to Pahoa to open my small independent pharmacy with a primary focus on herbal apothecary, compounding, and independent retail pharmacy. We have tried to be an integral part of the healthcare community in Hawaii by supporting the local healthcare practitioners.
